Lake Catherine
Lake Catherine is a beautiful 2,180 acre park in the Ouachita Mountains. It is located just 15 miles from the city of Hot Springs. Be sure to visit Hot Spring National Park and their "Bathhouse Row" while in the area.
One of Lake Catherine's most fabulous attractions are the waterfall(s). A system of 3 trails, Falls Branch, Horseshoe Mountain, and Dam Mountain, take you by two waterfalls and the dam that creates Lake Catherine.
Activities in the park include picnicking, fishing, hiking, campfire programs during the summer months, and swimming. Please place all trash in its proper place and do not feed the wildlife. In the summer you can find motor boats, a party barge and fishing supplies at the marina. Canoes, pedal boats and the party barge may be rented from the visitor center.
The park boasts a large picnic area with all the amenities such as a group pavilion, restrooms, and BBQ grills. A laundry mat, and playground are also available in the park.
The park is located in central Arkansas about 15 miles south of Hot Springs. You can exit from Interstate-30 (Exit 97), go north 12 miles on Hwy. 171 which take you straight into the park.
