Fishing Information

Sebec Lake is well known for its Native Landlocked Salmon population, one of only a handful of lakes in Maine to have such a fishery. In addition to Salmon, it is also a good lake for Lake Trout or "Togue" population. Warm water species such as small mouth bass and white perch are plentiful. Surrounding streams and ponds offer brook trout fishing. Sebec lake offers a quality fishing experience to a diverse group of fishermen. The outlet of the Lake is screened so that the fish cannot run out, which insures good fishing.

Sebec lake offers some of the best fishing in Maine. You'll find an abundance of salmon, lake trout, bass, white and yellow perch and pickerel to challenge your skills. The famous Early Salmon Pool is the first open water that can be fished after ice-out. If you prefer the action of brook trout there are numerous streams and ponds, or hire a seaplane and venture to remote lakes and rivers in search of bass and trout. Our fishing season runs from ice-out (generally May 1st to 10th) through September 30th.
