Lake Oologah
Oologah, Oklahoma



Lake Oologah is located 30 miles northeast of Tulsa, then two miles SE on Hwy-88. It has 29,460 surface acres and 180 miles of shoreline. Noted for catfish and sand bass. Sailboating is popular and there are swimming beaches. The name Oologah, pronounced oo'-la-gawh, is a Cherokee word meaning "dark cloud."

Facilities: Marina services, boat ramps, docks, 142 campsites with electricity, 18 mile equestrian and hiking trail, Skull Hollow Nature Trail, picnicking and group picnic shelter, and hunting during season.

Local Area Information

On the east side of the lake, the Will Rogers Country Centennial Trail winds around the shore from the Spillway to Blue Creek Park totaling 18 miles. This journey can be enjoyed by hiking or horse back riding.
