(#1250) Cherokee Lake Property For Sale
Description:
Beautiful Lakefront Mini-Estate situated in the mountains of Eastern Tennessee We are offering for sale our wonderful home on Cherokee Lake in Hawkins County, Tennessee. Completed in March 2000, this custom home was designed with attention to comfort, relaxation with limited exterior maintenance. Constructed of white brick and vinyl shake shingles, the interior (floors, ceilings, cabinetry and moldings) are finished with the finest western cedar, pine, maple, oak and hickory. Using these beautiful exposed woods throughout with the work of local craftsman; we have created the feeling of a traditional mountain home with almost every creature comfort available. Stretching over 90 feet along the lake and situated in the center of a small peninsula and skirted with decks and porches, this 3200+ square foot home takes complete advantage of a panoramic view of the lake and surrounding mountains. This prime lake front property offers privacy and relaxation through water recreation or just sitting from one of the many vantage points and observing the native wildlife, such as Deer, Wild Turkey and American Bald Eagles to name a few. Nearby Golf Courses and local Antique Stores offer a change of pace, as do Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Dollywood (which are only about a half hour away). A major airport and metropolitan amenities are within an hour. All are close enough for convenience but far enough to prevent distraction. Located within the security of gated Cheleque Estates, our property boasts more than an acre. Chelaque Estates is an active community with a variety of great people calling it home seasonally or year around. Please see the link to Chelaque Estates web page located below. The Master Suite Our two-story home is airy, open and perfect for entertaining, yet cozy. The master suite is on the first floor. Each morning we awaken looking out onto the lake. The master bedroom has glass doors opening to the rear deck. Other doors open to the large side screened porch. The side porch features speakers from the central sound system and a 25-jet hot tub for relaxation after a days’ activities. The exterior telephone outlet and numerous electrical outlets are for convenience. Back inside, our master bath has a steam shower and a large Jacuzzi bathtub. Of course there are his and her designer sinks, as well as his and her cedar lined walk-in closets. The stone fireplace with gas logs compliments our unusually large bedroom. The Living Area The living area is situated in the center of the house. Upon entering the front door, you are greeted by an inviting entryway, which features a marble tiled floor. The grand staircase is to the left leading to the second floor. An unusually large full bath is located to the right. The guest bath has designer pedestal sink, toilet and a large step-in shower with dual showerheads. It too has marble floors. This bath is ideal for guest use after a long day in the lake or upon returning from a day of snow skiing. To the rear left of the foyer is the spacious Great Room. Large picture windows, which stretch to the top of the cathedral ceiling, bring the lake and mountains inside. The focal point of the left side of the room is the massive gas logged fireplace with slate stones that raise two stories to the ceiling. On the opposite side of the room is the home entertainment center. Inside a large custom sized cabinet is a 60” big screen television. The handcrafted cabinet houses VCR, DVD players, the surround sound system, video games, movies, leaving plenty of room for other storage. The room is balanced by Oak and Hickory hardwood floors below and huge exposed Western Cedar solid beams above followed by a handcrafted a-frame Pine ceiling. To the rear right of the foyer lays the dining room. The ceiling consistently made of tongue and groove pine and the flooring has extended from the family room. Other amenities are a large wet bar with a vessel sink, wine rack, beverage refrigerator and cabinet space, all opposite more picture windows. The Kitchen The Kitchen offers more open space with immaculate wood finish. The granite counter top, custom tiled floor and picturesque view make this a common gathering area for family and friends. Lots of cabinets provide more storage than we could ever use. An island divides the room into a work area and breakfast space. The ceilings are wooden and consistent with adjoining rooms and as in the other rooms only interrupted by recessed lighting. A large counter top to one side of the space is perfect for our computer. All appliances are custom finished to blend consistently with our homes maple cabinetry. To the front of the home from the kitchen lies the massive pantry. Also to the front of the kitchen is our large laundry room. A built in ironing board and large utility sink make household duties easy. From the Kitchen and to the extreme right of our home is an additional screened porch. The amenities are consistent with the porch on the opposite end of our home (recessed lighting, ceiling fans, intercom, telephone outlet), but instead of the hot tub, we have a large stainless steel propane cooker. Powerful enough to accommodate a turkey or ham, but not so large the hamburgers and hot dogs don’t turn out perfect every time. The Second Story The Second Story of our home is perfect for our adult children’s visit. At the top of the staircase is a large loft (which could be easily) transformed into two additional bedrooms. At present we have a billiard table that overlooks the family room and enjoys an unobstructed view of the lake. The front lawn and grounds can be seen from large windows on the opposite side of the room. There is a large bedroom and cedar lined walk-in closet to the right of the second story. A martini balcony faces the front of our home from the bedroom. To the rear are, you guessed it, more picture windows overlooking the lake. The second story also features a full bath with tub and shower, pedestal sink and French style toilet (all designer brands) The Grounds Tucked away at the end of a cult-d-sac our property consists of over an acre. On the lakeside we have protected our property with a rip-rape rock and castle block retaining wall (say that three times quickly). We also had a gentleman from New England design and build a 14 ft? functioning lighthouse. The front lawn of the home features a cascading fountain with small fish and lily pads. The gazebo is screened and electrified. It measures 16 X 12 ft. with an additional decking of 12 X 16ft. We have spent many nice evenings with friends under the ceiling fan at the patio table or in the four person gliding swing. The gazebo, or for that matter any of the other porches and decks we have, are ideal to appreciate the almost $118,000 we have spent on landscaping and related accoutrements. The flowerbeds closer to the house are watered by an underground system. This system is fed from one of the two ground wells on the property. The Office & Garage When our home was built we were operating a large chain of retail stores. In this age of information and technology we were fortunate enough to work from an office overlooking the lake on our property. The office has a wonderful view. It has a tiled floor and a half bath. The cabinetry in the office matches those in the residence. Since selling our stores we have used the office space as a cabaña. The room offers multiple telephone lines and has the capability for any size equipment that a person or business might require. This would be perfect for someone in technology or internet driven business. Actually, it would be perfect for almost anyone who is fortunate enough to be able to work from a location of his or her choice. On the opposite end of the office is a large three-car garage (or two cars and a boat). Even with three automobiles parked inside, there is plenty of space for a workshop. The entire building was designed to be aesthetically pleasing to the property and multifunctional as well. Other Amenities When designing our home we attempted to include as many amenities as possible. In addition to enjoying the security of a gated community we installed an extensive security system. The security system naturally includes the house and office/garage, but as an extra measure we installed security sensors on the decking and the walk up from the water and our private floating deck. The grounds have ten no-freeze water spigots arranged strategically throughout the property. I’ve spent a lot of time discussing the view of the lake and mountains. Before buying the lots for our home we researched the surrounding areas and were happy to learn that the property across the lake is protected from development of any kind. Therefore the view and wildlife inhabitants will remain intact for perpetuity. Why are we offering our home for sale? We are moving out of state to join our son who has started a business there. Take advantage of the savings a For Sale By Owner offers. Interest rates are great! Hawkins County taxes and cost of living are substantially less than in many other parts of the country – particularly the Northeast. We can document well over our asking price spent in developing this property. It is now being offered for sale at $1,200,,000.00 We welcome your emails for more information on our home, additional pictures, the surrounding area, or for an appointment to view this property.
