Cherokee is privately owned by its shareholders, is
located 120 miles east of Dallas, and 60 miles west of
Shreveport, La. It is approximately 12 miles long with
more than 100 miles of shoreline and over 50 miles of
roads and is now home to more than 800 families.
The Lake Charter was established for 1500 shares of stock
accompanied by a lease that extends from October 1st to
September 30th, and is renewable each year.
