The Greenbelt Hike/Bike/Equestrian Trail (www.dentonparks.com/greenbelt.html) is located between Lake Ray Roberts and Lake Lewisville. Through a joint project with the Army Corps of Engineers and the Cities of Denton and Dallas, a trail has been established where outdoor enthusiasts will be able to hike and bike the entire length (about nine miles) of the Elm Fork of the Trinity River. Horseback riders can start their ride at FM 428 and continue all the way around the east side of Lake Ray Roberts, through the state park at Isle du Bois, and on to Jordan Park, near Pilot Point. Canoeists and kayakers will be able to take advantage of the three access points located at FM 455 (just below the Lake Ray Roberts dam), FM 428, and US 380 for put-in and take-out points.

Ray Roberts Lake has emerged into a very productive fishing lake, growing in popularity among anglers. The current lake record for largemouth bass is 14.06. Crappie, white bass, and catfish are also a good catch. One of the Dallas-Ft Worth Metroplex most popular bass fishing destinations. A combination of creek channels, drop-off, humps, hydrilla, and vast flats has led to the fast growth of fish populations. The lake consists of two arms with the East arm a maize of standing timber jungles and huge hydrilla beds which is a favorite home of trophy largemouth and the West arm where the deep river channel works it's way south to the dam.
Fishing Regulations: Largemouth bass -- five fish per day, all at least 18 inches long. All others same as statewide. Predominant Fish Species: Largemouth bass, white bass, channel catfish, crappie, and sunfish.
