Toledo Bend Reservoir
bordering Texas and Louisiana
Toledo Bend is a man-made lake created in 1967 and is known for world-class bass fishing. The lake is located on the Texas-Louisiana state line, northeast of Jasper, Texas, and covers 185,000 acres and has 1,200 miles of shoreline. Toledo Bend Reservoir offers wonderful fishing, camping, hiking, and outdoor activities on a lake surrounded mostly by undeveloped land, much of it timberland and much of that in the Sabine National Forest.Along the timbered shoreline are marinas, lakeside cottages and fine luxury homes. There is a natural harmony with the woods, the land and the water. Throughout the region, nature's abundance of wild flowers, scented blooms, majestic pines and leafy shade trees all erupt in fountains of color.
