Lake Home Off Market

With over 500' of Shoreline... Complete with seawall...Plenty of room to build your dream home. This quaint cabin was built by an engineer and his sons, while he was working at Oak Ridge in the 50's. So needless to say the construction was exemplary. It is 860 square feet in area, with brown-stained cedar exterior siding. It has a composite roof and aluminum gutters with gutter guards. Double-hung windows have double panes, PVC frames, with aluminum exterior trim. The living room has three double-hung windows and two large picture windows. It is cooled by a wall air conditioner, and heated by a thermostatically-controlled electric heater. The walls consist of solid knotty-pine tongue-and-groove panels, floors are polyurethane-varnished solidtongue-and-groove red oak. The kitchen has a double sink with cabinets, shelvers & drawers for storage in addition to storage in four knotty pine wall-hung cabinets. Electric equipment includes an antique 4-burner stove with a full oven, a refrigerator/freezer. The kitchen has one double hung window and opens to the back porch. The bedroom has two double-hung windows, one closet and is cooled with a wall air conditioner and a ceiling fan. The walls have solid tongue-and-groove tulip poplar paneling. The bedroom has solid red oak tongue-and-groove flooring. The main floor bathroom has a walk-in shower, a sink and cabinet, a chest of drawers, a
toilet, and a single double-hung window.
The full attic sleeping area has one double and three single beds, a half bath, and a wall air conditioner. A thermostatically controlled ventilation system sucks hot air from between the roof underlayment, a layer of insulation, and the attic ceiling
and discharges it outdoors. There are two double-hung windows, one on each end of the attic.
The screened porch has a broad view of the lake, and has a locked storage area under it. The adjacent deck is constructed of pressure-treated lumber including a propane gas cooking grill bolted onto the deck.
An electric clothes dryer is installed on the back porch, along with a storage closet for the electric water heater.
The property receives metered city water plumbed to the house and other locations, but it also has a drilled water well with a submersible pump located in a crab orchard stone well house east of the kitchen. The city water supply can be turned off using an
isolation valve at the north east corner of the cabin.
An extensive waterfront is protected with an 8 foot tall concrete wall, to which a wooden boat dock is attached. Two sets of steps lead into the water from the wall, and three ladders provide access to the boat dock from the water.
The boathouse providing berths for two boats is equipped with electric lifts (one a Hewitt aluminum cantilever lift, the other one using cables and nylon slings). The attic is accessed via a folding metal ladder that is used for storing kayaks, etc., which can be loaded through a gable end barn door.
In addition there is a tool shed used to store electric and hand tools, spare paint, a lawnmower, etc. The annex to the tool shed is used to store water skis, beach chairs, floats, and fishing tackle.
City water and electricity reaches from the cabin to the tool shed, boat house, and the beach near the wooden boat dock.
