Lake is surrounded by Mature oak and hickory Hardwoods the word Dabinawa is an Indian term meaning Lots of Shade. This lake sets in the top of the hills and has an abundance of wildlife . Sorry NO jet skis. It is a 100 acre manmade impoundment stocked with Large Bass, crappie ,catfish, bluegill and flatheads. The lake is feed by Springs and runoff which except for heavy spring rains stays at a consistant level never fluxating more than 1 or 2 feet. There is great Fishing ,Swimming and Skiing or tubing. We have a great fireworks display with a Boat regatta & parade which is followed by a lake wide water ballon fight for those who want to partake. A lake picnic is held each june. Lake roads are chip &sealed and is 3.7 miles around the lake and makes for a great jogging or walking trail. This is one of a few lakes in Kansas which allows Boat Docks. This is a great community to live in with around 170 homes which 70% full time residents.
