Begun as a summer community in 1923, Cranberry Lake is a State owned 180 acre lake, maintained by the community club. The lake has 2 separate sections divided by a natural peninsula, the "old lake" and the "main lake", which can be viewed by aerial mapping programs. The Cranberry Lake Community Club maintains a lakefront clubhouse adjacent to the main beach, with activities for the entire family, 2 swimming beaches with lifeguards, swim lessons, water-ski club, swim team, floating swim docks, and more. The State stocks the lake with trout for fishing. Dues are very reasonable for the area and include free dock space for your boat and use of all club facilities. The lake sits in Byram Township, which is easy access to Route 80.
