Millions of visitors yearly are attracted to Chickamauga Lake. The area offers two state parks, two county parks, four municipal parks, and two wildlife centers. Boating, swimming, fishing, camping, water skiing, jet skiing, and other water related activities are offered on Chickamauga Lake. Chickamauga Dam is the fourth of the TVA's main river projects, and is located 20 miles northeast of Chattanooga. Chickamauga Reservoir, with 810 miles of shoreline, has 35,400 square acres of surface area.
Lake Chickamauga is formed by a dam on the Tenn River approx 15 miles down
river. The TVA dams are easily transited by a series of locks, thus
permitting water travel from above Knoxville to the Gulf of Mexico.
Jet skis & power boats are permitted, but this is a huge waterway system and
we are not near a marina. Swimming is permitted and access is common to all
property owners. Water quality is good. A river that is formed by two
outstanding trout streams flow in just above the property, thus providing a
source of clean mountain water. Lake depth varies from shoreline shallow to
over 200 feet. Winter drawdowns are approx 5-8 feet, but lake is boat
accessible all year.
Nearest full service towns are Cleveland & Dayton TN;
approx 15 miles. Birchwood is 10 min and has basic requirements.
Chattanooga is approx 45 min and has an excellent airport and world class
medical. A neat city. There are building covenants that can be provided
upon request. In short: 1500 sq ft minimum and a brick, or Hardy Board,
exterior. These houses are very nice; the developer lives there. No RVs or
trailers. A small subdivision (64 lots) with great neighbors. Very good
