Glen Echo is a mile long, 126-acre, all sports lake and it is shaped like a figure "8". It is a perfect size; large enough to water ski and small enough that you can see from one end to the other and keep an eye on your loved ones. It is also a tight community where neighbors know, and take care, of each other. The 4th of July boat parade is also pretty legendary!
It's referred to as a hidden gem because it's <10minutes from the Auburn and Sturbridge ramps to the Massachusetts Turnpike, or Interstate 90. Boston's Logan Airport, Hartford Connecticut's Bradley International, and Providence Rhode Island's T. F. Green Airport are all an hour away.
