Tom Sturm: Norris Lake Real Estate Agent Info

Full time broker and founder Tom Sturm, a broker with Coldwell Banker West Shell Realtors in Greater Cincinnati, envisioned a company that connects Tennessee buyers with Tennessee sellers -- offering the kind of real estate service and marketing they are accustomed to "back home." The core of our business model revolves around creating a stress-free search and a no-worries sale, delivering "northern style" service and marketing on southern shores. Tennessee Home Finders brokerage was birthed in 2007, a company devoted to selling the relaxation, beauty and fun of Norris Lake and surrounding lake and mountain areas. So many clients --like us-- are from Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Florida, Georgia, Canada and other out of state locations, and we forge a common bond to enjoy and share the benefits and beauty of the region. We are headquartered on Norris Lake in LaFollette, near Deerfield. We are a full service brokerage, offering marketing for luxury estates, cabins, and log homes, as well as Norris' unique floating houses, manufactured homes, house boats, farms, condos and lots. With the launch of our property management and vacation rental division, our positioning to help you find, rent or sell your piece of the dream is equalled only by our commitment to make your time with us not just a transaction but an unparalleled, rewarding experience. Our experienced team of agents love the Tennessee lifestyle and own homes in the community. We know the developments, builders, marinas and communities around the lakes, and we're ready to listen to what you're looking for. We'll help you discover properties on or off the waterfront that fit your needs--some listed, and many more that are not. You've just found your connection to a team of honest agents who are savvy about the region, knowledgeable about the inventory, and passionate about the relaxed lifestyle on the lakes. We've bought homes ourselves in the community, and are committed to helping you make the best possible buying decision.

Fishing Information

Fishing is the most popular activity on the Norris Lake. Fish varieties include walleye, sauger, white bass, crappie, striped bass, catfish, bluegill, largemouth and smallmouth bass and spotted bass. Catches of Brown and Rainbow trout are abundant. Fishing guide service is available. Fishing follows seasonal patterns. Most winter fishing is concentrated in the headwaters of the reservoir and in the mouths of tributary streams. In early spring, some species begin spawning runs. Walleye and sauger travel upstream into the Clinch and Powell Rivers.

Good reservoir fishing is available from March through June. Crappie fishing is best in April and early May. Bass and walleye fishing peaks in May and June. Hair jigs and deep running plugs are effective for most species in early spring. Spinners and worms are standard walleye bait.

During summer months, night fish for white bass and white crappie using live bait and lights. Black bass fishing, particularly small mouth, picks up again in the fall. White bass, white crappie, and walleye are caught by shallow trolling and still fishing with minnows.
