Fishing Information

Lake Nottely is a small mountain lake with clear deep water and an abundant striper population. Nottely is noted for its black and striped bass, walleye, rainbow trout, and bass which the state of Georgia has stocked to enhance fishing opportunities. Crappie are being caught around treetops in 10 -15 feet of water on jigs and minnows. Striper activity during the day is beginning to pick up on planner board methods with light sinkers in the middle sections of the creeks. They continue to be taken at night on shallow running crankbaits along main lake and creek points. Walleye are also being caught on live bait at night under lights off main lake points and rocky banks. Bluegill are biting nightcrawlers and redworms around the shoreline. Below the National Fish Hatchery and in the Nottely River, Trout can be caught on spinners, salmon eggs, nightcrawlers, and corn.
