Lake Monroe is very clean due to city sanitary system and deep due to the large limestone valley it is set in by the Core of engineers in 1964.
Jet skis and large and small power boats are permitted with no restrictions on size or speed.
Swimming is always welcomed and the lake temperature is normally in the mid 80's.
Water quality is high as Lake Monroe has very few homes or developments on it, over 1/2 the 33 mile lake shore is Hoosier National Forrest and all development is on sewer lines, no septic tanks around the lake.
